Defusor
Defusor answers a question most engineering budgets cannot: which part of this spend is waste, and what should be cut first.
Why this exists
Every product company can name its headcount and its burn. Almost none can name the cost of coordination, coupling, or rework, so when a cut is needed it lands on the visible thing — people — rather than the expensive thing. Defusor makes the invisible costs legible and then ranks them.
What the tool does
Defusor reads your git history and reports five metrics:
- Vacuum Effort — what the change would have cost in a perfectly modular system, the baseline everything else is measured against
- Sync Tax — hours lost per feature to coordination overhead
- Domain Coupling — how much a change in one area forces changes in others
- Failure Risk Cost — expected cost of the incidents the current architecture invites
- Incident Cost — what production failures actually consume
From those it produces a quarterly plan naming what to cut, what to leave, and what it is worth.
Who it is for
Product companies where engineering is a large share of spend and the leadership team cannot see where that spend goes.
Pricing
Per git contributor, billed monthly, not per seat. Defusor is launching in phases — it runs free during the testing phase for a small number of Series B and C SaaS companies in exchange for feedback, and customer sign-up opens after it.
